Air conditioning experts

Over two-thirds of vehicles are fitted with air conditioning and climate control systems as standard these days. Many of us are familiar with using air con in our car on both hot and cold days, but not many people are aware that, like other parts of your car, the air-conditioning system needs regular attention to make sure it is working efficiently.

Over 10% of air-con gas escapes from the air-con system every year, which means that it may not work as well as it should. This is why car manufacturers recommend your air-con system is recharged with gas and lubricant every two years. This service is not part of routine vehicle servicing, so if your vehicle is more than two years old it’s probably due a recharge. Air-con systems that are not fully recharged will be less effective and have to work harder, putting more strain on the engine and using more fuel. If your air-con system has not been recharged in two years, it could dramatically reduce efficiency and be costing you more.

We can supply both gasses from 134A to 1234YF.
Servicing and repairs

How often should I run the air conditioning in my car?

All the time on hot or cold depending on the outside temperature. This will ensure that the rubber seals and gaskets in your system don’t dry out and crack, causing leaks. Run your system for a few minutes every week at the very least - contrary to popular belief it does not greatly reduce your mpg!

We carry out:
  • Full air-con servicing
  • Leak detection
  • System deodorising
Carbon cleaning
